- Harry Houdini - (March 24, 1874 October 31, 1926) was the stage name of Ehrich Weiss (born Weisz Erik in the native Hungarian), one of the most famous magicians, escapologists, and stunt performers of all time.
- Siegfried and Roy - Siegfried & Roy are longtime Las Vegas headliners whose longrunning illusion and magic act closed October 3, 2003 after Roy was mauled by one of the act's performing white tigers during a performance.
The two men, Siegfried Fischbacher (born June 13, 1939 in Rosenheim, Germany) and Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn (born October 3, 1944 in Nordenham, Germany), are naturalized American citizens who made large white tigers appear and disappear in their act.
- Derren Brown (born 27 February 1971) is a British psychological illusionist (mentalist). He was born in Croydon, Surrey, and attended the University of Bristol, where he made his first public performances, as a traditional stage magician. From the mid-1990s he pursued a career as conjurer, practising the traditional skills of close-up magic. Even after his later change of emphasis many of his psychological illusions are, in essence, these same tricks (well known to magicians) skilfully performed with Brown's showman's flair adding psychological sheen to aid misdirection.
- David Copperfield (born David Seth Kotkin in Metuchen New Jersey on September 16, 1956) is a renowned magician and illusionist best known for his combination of spectacular illusions with storytelling. His most famous feats include making the Statue of Liberty disappear, levitating over the Grand Canyon, and walking through the Great Wall of China.
- David Blaine (born April 4, 1973) is an American illusionist and stunt performer born in Brooklyn, New York City. He made his name as a performer of close-up magic, usually working on the streets. Amongst magicians this is commonly known as street magic.
- Penn and Teller are a two-man magic and comedy team, specializing in gory tricks and clever pranks, who have become associated with Las Vegas and skepticism. They call themselves a couple of eccentric guys who have learned how to do a few cool things.
- Uri Geller(born December 20, 1946 in Tel Aviv, Israel) is a famous but controversial alleged psychic and television personality.
